BFR 2024

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, we sincerely thank you for visiting the BFR 2024 website. We are proud to continue the tradition of the symposium series as an interdisciplinary forum for scholars, researchers, and experts from various fields to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate, all in a friendly atmosphere. We are especially delighted to hold the first BFR symposium in Korea. The symposium aims to facilitate knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities among participants, with the objective of identifying effective responses to pressing current and future challenges.

The symposium will focus on the science of diverse flame retardants and related compounds from a broad perspective. The symposium will cover analytical methods, abiotic and biotic environmental monitoring, food and feed contamination, human exposure, health effects and toxicology, remediation and destruction technologies, and regulatory policy for legacy and emerging FRs, chlorinated paraffins, and others.

Incheon, a venue city, is the hub city of Northeast Asia and the fastest gateway to Korea. The sky and sea roads are wide open, so it has the best transportation to arrive freely and conveniently from all parts of the world as well as anywhere in Korea. Moreover, Incheon travels within an hour from the metropolitan city (Seoul). Songdo (Incheon), a venue city of BFR 2024, is known as a safe and smart city. Songdo (Incheon) has the first international conference complex zones (ICCZ) in Korea, so it is a convenient environment for foreigners. Incheon is a city with diverse attractions, including history, culture, and natural landscapes, offering participants a rich experience. We invite all participants to create lasting memories, partake in diverse activities, and explore the enchanting beauty of Incheon.
